Kingston University London international students at PRYZM for their refresher's week.
Kingston University is welcoming new, January intake students with Refresher's week which include informational and interactive events which have helped students to engage and socialise.
From academic events like taking part in creative writing and engineering societies to fun social events like night outs at Pryzm (famous student club) and comedian’s live refreshers special – Kingston is prepared for all. Especially for international students, trips to the British Musuem or Vodka love party at Ama-Gi on 4th Feb 2022, Friday is such a convenience. All campuses have social spaces for students to interact – student bars, library, gym etc.
Jishnu Vignesh, an international student from India, studying marketing communications at Kingston said: “The refreshers events have helped me meet and socialise with not only my peers but also students from various courses, cultures and backgrounds – I have gained so much exposure in such a short time – it’s incredible.”
Students have more than 90 sports and societies to choose form based on their personal preferences and interests. KU is hosting a societies and sports fair throughout the week with interactive opportunities such a table tennis.
Yasmin Noor, the Vice President - events officer said: “The main aim of our university is to build connections amongst new students and help them network as much as possible.” Sigridur Eyglo, an international student from Iceland said: “I am grateful that I had the opportunity to be a part of events lineup because I have met so many people and made a huge social group already through these events and societies.”
KU Cinema Appreciation society is offering free pass for all 3 days to the international film festival in London on 4th Feb 2022, Friday. Plus, cheap entry tickets and drinks at pubs/clubs/bars and a discounted rate of £7.30 for fun films at Odeon with KU ID.
Jess Tansley, communications and social media specialist at Union of Kingston students said: “KU has events like LGBTQ+ history month, women’s history month, global festival and our Varsity sports competition throughout.”
